30/12/2020 0 Comments December 2020 movie/tv Round-upSome of what I watched this month including Little Fires Everywhere, The Undoing and more! the undoing (season 1)The lives of a wealthy family of three are turned upside down by a horrific scandal. Nicole Kidman's protagonist is a therapist who has to confront a few of her own demons and, at times, examine if she can practice what she preaches. With a stellar cast, the series plays with the characters' and audience's perceptions of what may have happened. Every episode gives speculation to a different character as the story unravels. If you are one for unexpected endings, you may be a bit disappointed. However, throughout the series, plot twists regularly occur and keep you on your toes. baby God (2020)Dr. Quincy Fortier infamously used his own sperm to impregnate his fertility patients who had trouble conceiving. His many children investigate his story, motives and come to terms with their identities. An unbelievable story with heart-breaking moments. I felt the documentary could have done a bit more to incorporate Fortier's history and personal story. little fires everywhere (season 1)Two completely different families cross paths in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Their worlds are rocked by their differing lifestyles, values and beliefs. Excellent performances from this cast with a plot that is so relevant. The subtleties of race relations are portrayed so magnificently. Topics of coming-of-age and parenting in a multiracial society are brought forth. A show definitely worth the watch and on my list of favourites for 2020. don't f**k with cats (season 1)Disgustingly gruesome footage surfaces on Facebook and leads a group of concerned cat-lovers to find a criminal through the internet. One of the best documentaries I've ever watched. The story seems far beyond reality, captivating you with every hour-long episode. The makers created such an engaging narrative enhancing this already insane story. Written by: Vidal Thaver
